Tour Itinerary
Ayubowan!
Welcome to Sri Lanka, the Pearl of the Indian Ocean!
On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport. A Wonderland Leisure Chauffeur Guide will greet you at the airport and accompany you to your private vehicle. To assist you in settling in, you will be escorted from the Bandaranaike International Airport to your Colombo hotel. We will take you on a beautiful city tour of the capital city of Colombo after you have relaxed and are ready. From Fort and Pettah, go through the city’s commercial and residential districts, taking in attractions including Galle Face Green, the historic parliament, the lighthouse clock tower, the Colombo harbour, Gangarama Temple, Independence Square, and Viharamahadevi Park.
Now that we’ve covered the first day, we’d want to complete with an iconic Sri Lanka experience of Colombo’s nightlife as a Sri Lankan. Join us for an evening food stall tour, tea tour, and dinner by the ocean.
Dinner and overnight stay at Colombo.
Begin your 150 kms trip to Udawalawe National Park after an early breakfast, passing through Ratnapura, the Gem City. Arrive first at the Elephant Transit Center, a non-profit organisation formed in 1995 to care for wounded, ill, and orphaned young elephants from all around Sri Lanka before releasing them back into the wild. Watch them feed, play, and re-establish their confidence before returning to the wild.
When you arrive at the Udawalawe campsite, you will be led to your Tented cabin to rest before you, go on an adrenaline-packed jeep safari and take a culinary arts class taught by an in-house chef.
First, you have the option of eating lunch or participating in a one-of-a-kind open culinary arts class with the chef in the preparation of your meal. After you’ve had your filling lunch, take an adventurous jeep safari till dusk.
Udawalawe is a national park established to provide a safe refuge for wildlife displaced by the building of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River. Udawalawe is mostly used for breeding by waterbirds and Asian Elephants.
After your evening game drive, return to your cabin. After a delicious dinner and your first glimpse of Sri Lanka’s wildlife, get some rest before tomorrow’s full-day safari.
Dinner and overnight stay at Udawalawe.
Today, after breakfast, we will continue our Udawalawe Safari Experience from yesterday. Engage on a full-day game drive to see all of the wildlife you missed.
To explore the depths of this national park, you’ll go on an all-inclusive private jeep safari. As the sun sets, more animals congregate around drinking holes. Crocodiles, Spotted Deer, and a variety of birds may be seen here, including Sri Lanka’s famed “big three” – the Asian Elephant, Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, and Sri Lankan Leopard. The leopard population in the park places it among the top world-renowned national parks.
After the safari, relax in the nighttime outside of your cabin, feeling as if you’re in a movie with the insects chirping out into the night. Gather at the campground for a social gathering and a great BBQ meal provided by the chef. After that, go on an amazing night bushwalk to see birds, reptiles, and other animal species lounging on trees and in their natural habitats. In the silence of the night, this will be a remarkable experience for you.
Dinner and overnight stay at Udawalawe.
Following your morning breakfast. You will be transferred 80 kms to your cabin at the Yala National Park. Before heading out on an evening wildlife encounter, loosen up with a nice drink or take a stroll around the park’s boundaries.
Yala National Park, located in Sri Lanka’s south-eastern area, is the island’s major national park and is home to the most diversified animals and birds in the country. Freshwater lakes, beaches, rocky outcrops, green plains, and rainforests are among the many ecosystems found in the park. This location is rich in biodiversity and is one of the most popular places in the world with the largest population density for spotting the elusive leopard, which loves to sunbathe on the parkland’s enormous granite boulders. This will be your third safari in Sri Lanka, and the Yala Safari is a must-do activity.
While wandering through the park and playing a game of spotting some of the park’s unique wildlife, have a great learning experience with your tour guide.
Conclude your day with a belly full of a delicious meal and a relaxing night under the stars at your cabin.
Dinner and overnight stay at Yala.
Grab your takeaway breakfast, get an early start, and embark on a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. The Yala Safari is a must-do experience in Sri Lanka, and this will be the fourth safari. During this day-long game drive, you will be provided with snack packs.
Strive to observe and capture as many unique things as possible on your safari; it’s not every day that you get to experience the wild in its natural habitat.
Your expert wildlife guide will offer you with all the information you need about the flora and wildlife, as well as help you get the greatest wildlife photographs possible.
Enjoy your second safari in the afternoon, in a different region of Yala National Park, where you’ll get another chance to observe leopards and the park’s many other animals and birds.
After a long and exciting day, return to your hotel for an early night. Fill your belly with a delicious dinner and spend the night in a cosy Yala Cabin, taking use of the hotel’s amenities.

After breakfast, you will travel 30 kms from Yala to the Bundala National Park for a half-day safari on your fifth safari in Sri Lanka. Bundala is home to 200 rare endemic and migratory birds, 32 mammal species, and is a coastal hatching place for endangered turtles, among other things.
Thousands of colourful birds, ranging from little bee-eaters to monstrous open-billed stalks, live in the Bundala paradise. It is such an important wetland environment that it was Sri Lanka’s first Ramsar Site and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The park is home to over 200 indigenous and migratory bird species, many of which travel from Siberia and India’s Rann of Kutch to spend the winter here, arriving between August and April. This park has a lot to offer not just for bird aficionados, but also wildlife and nature enthusiasts.
During the Bundala safari, you’ll also get to explore the habitat of the endangered Star Tortoise and learn about how the turtles are raised here.
