Arugam Bay

On Sri Lanka’s east coast, there is a little fishing village called Arugam. Arugam bay has become one of Sri Lanka’s most popular surfing locations as a result of surfers’ discovery of the bay. The stunning bay, with its lovely sweeping beach, tremendous waves, and long, reliable breakers, is one of the top 10 surfing locations in the world. It has an atmosphere that comes close to being extravagantly exotic because of the breathtaking scenery, the sugar-sand beaches, and the nearby tropical woods with desirable wildlife. This makes it the ideal location to unwind and let the water entice you into activities like snorkeling, swimming, and surfing while exhaling a breath of relief knowing your vacation was well-planned. Three spots may be found on the beach length that, from April to October, draws surfers from all over the world. Experienced surfers believe Pottuvil Point, which is an hour and a half distant by taxi or tuk tuk, to be unattainable. A long, empty length of sandy beach has enormous stones all along the edge.

The major break in Arugam Bay, draws the most surfers during the surfing season. The third and last of the three is Crocodile Rock. The likelihood of seeing crocodiles, water buffalo, elephants, peacocks, eagles, or kingfishers in this area adds to its allure. This surfers’ paradise offers sidewalk cafés that serve delectable rice and curry as well as lodging options that range from opulent resorts to budget Sri Lanka vacations. Arugam Bay is a guaranteed experience on any Sri Lankan custom vacation, whether it’s for surfing or just relaxing.
