Explore Wilpattu National Park, Sri Lanka’s largest. The park is approximately 130,000 hectares in size and borders three cities (Mannar, Anuradhapura, and Puttalam). It also features massive Sri Lankan coastlines. The park emphasises natural fresh water lakes known as ‘Villus,’ which serve as breeding grounds for animals to drink and bathe. Wilpattu is open from 6 AM to 6 PM. and is only accessible by jeep safari. The best time to visit the park is from February to October, but there is always a crowd. You will be taken on a jeep safari around Wilpattu National Park for a day tour to see Sri Lanka’s wild animals such as elephants, jackals, sloth bears, leopards, wild buffalos, spotted deer, mongoose and many other species.

An experienced driver/guide will take you along the routes with the best chances of seeing these animals. The park gets its name from the villus, which is where most of the sightings are said to occur.
