Kitulgala
A little town called Kitulgala is located atop hills that descend to the Kelani River’s raging waves. The little town, which is infused with the many beauties of its surroundings, is split in half by the road that winds its way up the central hill area. From Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Ratnapura, and Colombo, it is easily accessible. Kitulgala is a destination to visit in any Sri Lanka vacation packages because to the finding of prehistoric human fossils in the nearby Beli Lena caves and the filming of “Bridge over River Kwai,” in which David Lean used the river nearby to illustrate the brutality of modern man. The excavations in Beli Lena, which is regarded as Sri Lanka’s biggest cave, have uncovered the skeletal remains of the prehistoric “Balangoda man” (Homo sapiens Balangodensis), thought to be more than 32,000 years old.
The activity that draws those looking for adventure is white water rafting. There are ten level two and level three rapids on the river in its beautiful middle stretch. A section of the river that is peacefully running separates them. The top section is more difficult and is advised for those with greater expertise. It is a charming small town and village that you may explore at your leisure while taking pleasure in every second of our Eden Resort in Sri Lanka. Kitulgala is one of many such locations on a Sri Lanka vacation where you may relax while riding a bike or hiking.
