As soon as you walk in, you’ll see young elephants being fed with a bottle. This is a fantastic setting for travelers. The elephants with disabilities that are unable to care for themselves are also housed at this orphanage. Occasionally orphaned, these “gentle giants” are cared for by specially trained mahouts. Dambulla Cave Temple
The Dambulla Cave Temple, the most revered cave temple in Asia, dates back to the first century BC. Its five chambers are hidden behind a huge boulder that hangs over the temple. A drip line is cut on the underside of the Rock to keep the inside dry. The ceilings of the caverns are decorated with elaborate patterns of sacred symbols that have been painstakingly painted to follow the natural curves of the rock. Inside, there are pictures of the Buddha, bodhisattvas, gods, and goddesses. The cave monastery is still Sri Lanka’s best-preserved ancient building, dating to the second and third centuries BC. It is still a functioning shrine today, attracting tens of thousands of followers and inquisitive onlookers.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress
One of the incredible wonders of the ancient world, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress must be seen to be believed, Sigiriya is a majestic rock stronghold that dominates the surrounding plain and can be seen for miles in every direction. It is situated in the interior of Sri Lanka. A palace and fortification, Sigiriya was a historic castle constructed by King Kasyapa in the fifth century AD. It takes roughly 90 minutes to complete the challenging ascent of Sigiriya. The Mirror Wall, the renowned Sigiriya Frescoes, and the entrance to the Lion Gate are just a few of the strange areas of the citadel that you will travel by. There are enough remnants of the ruins to give the visitor an amazing understanding of the sincerity and ingenuity of its creators.
Kandy
According to historical records, Kandy was first founded by King Wickramabahu (1357–1374 CE) north of the present-day city, close to the Watapuluwa region. At the time, it was known as Senkadagalapura, while other academics speculate that the term “Katubulu Nuwara” may have also been used. The city’s more well-known name, Senkadagala, may have originated from a variety of places. These options include naming it after a brahmin named Senkanda who resided in a cave close to the city, after a Senkanda-named queen of King Wickramabahu, or after the name of a colored stone called Senkadagala.
Following breakfast at the hotel in Kandy, you will be driven 75 kms via Ramboda to Nuwara Eliya.
Ramboda Falls
It is the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka at 109 m (358 ft) high and the 729th highest waterfall in the world. The Ramboda Pass on the A5 highway is where it is located in the Pussellawa area. A tributary of Kothmale Oya, Panna Oya is what created it. 945 m (3,100 ft) above sea level is the height of the falls.
Nuwara Eliya

Both locals and visitors alike praise Nuwara Eliya’s temperate weather and breathtaking surroundings. One of the best 18-hole golf courses in South Asia is located there as well. You occasionally get to see deep valleys and ravines during this time, with the hillside dropping several meters into the lush greenery. The weather changes throughout the journey, just like the surroundings. While sometimes clouds roll beneath you, other times you are enveloped in mist. The most breathtaking part of the trip is the final hour. During this period, you return to tea country once more. Up to a point when the railway does a complete loop back underneath itself, some 30 meters further down, it travels through tiny towns and over bridges. Until you approach Ella, you gradually notice tea plantations and forests blending together, as well as valleys, ridges, mountains, and waterfalls appearing on both sides of the railway route.
Ella Rock
One of the best places to visit is Ella Rock, where you can be stunned by the stunning scenery surrounded by the foggy mountains. If you start your hike as early as possible, you’ll have the chance to take in the amazing sights piercing the misty mountains at the break of morning. The Ella Railway Station serves as the most popular starting place for rock climbing excursions in Ella. However, if you begin your adventure from Kithal-Ella Station, you can discover a rather short approach to experience the Ella Rock trek.
